BitePing estimates the calories and macronutrients in your meals from photos and
short descriptions. This policy explains what we process, why, and what you can
do about it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
We do not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number. We do not
show ads. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who we are
BitePing is made by Tiny App Studio. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we store
When you use BitePing we store the following under an anonymous account
identifier:
- Your profile and goal — sex, birth year, height, weight, activity level,
goal type and pace, preferred units and language.
- Your daily targets — the calorie and macronutrient figures we compute from
your profile, including any values you change yourself.
- Your food log — for each entry: the food name, the portion description,
the calorie, protein, carbohydrate and fat estimate, how it was created
(photo, text or manual), the confidence of the estimate, and the day it
belongs to.
- Your streak — your current streak count and the last day you logged.
- Usage counts — how many AI analyses you ran on a given day, so we can
apply the daily limit.
What we do not store
- We never store your meal photos. A photo is sent to our server, forwarded
for analysis, and discarded as soon as the estimate comes back. It is not
written to any database, and it is not kept in any log.
- We do not store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise
location, or payment details.
- We do not use any advertising identifier, and we do no cross-app tracking.
Your anonymous account
BitePing signs you in automatically with an anonymous Firebase account. It has
no email address and no password. It exists only to keep your own data separate
from everyone else's.
This has one consequence worth knowing: the account lives on this device. If
you delete BitePing, or reset your device, we have no way to connect you to your
previous data, and it cannot be recovered.
